Annunciation Catholic Church

Paris, KY

3,500 s.f. - Renovation

7,900 s.f. - New Facility 2005

Renovation: The primary focus of the project was the interior renovation of the sanctuary in this 1840 church facility. The renovation responded to liturgical changes in the Catholic Church as well as the original historic character of the structure. The seating and pews were changed, the altar platform was extended into the nave, and the baptismal font was relocated as a focal point of the entry. New wood moldings were incorporated and all finishes were refurbished or replaced. A new HVAC system, along with required upgrading of electrical power and lighting was also accomplished. In addition, a prayer garden was added in vacant space between the Church and the Rectory.

New Facility: The primary focus of the project was the removal of the existing deteriorated Parish Hall building and the creation of a New Parish Center to accommodate the expanding church parish established in the 1840 original church facility. The Parish Center provided for the multi-purpose gathering space with seating for 250, along with flexible partitions to vary the size of the spaces and provide for three separate meeting rooms. Additionally a commercial Kitchen was provided for the preparation of meals for church functions. Ancillary facilities including a Gathering area, accessible toilets, and related storage facilities were provided. This building was added to the complex of the original Church & Meditation Garden, Rectory, and School facilities.
